Setting the Date for your Wedding

St. Patrick Parish welcomes all Catholics who would like to celebrate the Sacrament of Marriage in our beautiful church. Because preparation for these celebrations can be involved (Pre-Cana, wedding rehearsals, etc.), we ask that engaged couples begin their arrangements at least 6 months in advance of their wedding date. Interested couples are asked to call the Rectory (631) 665-4911 in order to make an appointment with parish clergy. Kindly refrain from booking your reception until you have begun your arrangements with the Church.

Choosing Music for Your Wedding

At St. Patrick Parish, music is an integral part of worship. The music at your wedding should support the meaning of the Sacrament and should be one of the ways that your guests are drawn together into a worshipping community. Our professional music staff is here to make your wedding both a prayerful and joyful experience.

Please click the link below to view the suggestions we have for music for your wedding. When you have viewed, the selections, you may go to the following link to make your selections: https://stpatrickbayshore.wufoo.com/forms/wedding-music. This online form should be filled out and submitted at least one month prior to your wedding.

Please keep in mind that only music which is proper and fitting to the celebration of the Sacrament of Matrimony may be used. “Popular” or secular music, or the playing of “our song,” are more appropriate at the reception rather than as part of the Church ceremony and is therefore not allowed. The selection of music for the wedding liturgy is guided by the same norms as apply to the gathering of the Church on Sundays.

All music and singing arrangements are discussed and arranged directly with our parish Director of Music and Liturgy, Mr. Christopher Ferraro. If you have a request for a particular piece of music that is not listed or for specific musicians, please bring this to Chris’ attention early in the planning process.

Included in the offering you make to the parish for your wedding are the fees for the organist and the cantor. Additional singers and instrumentalists can be arranged but please reach out to Chris for assistance and direction.

Choosing Readings for Your Wedding

You will need to select the first reading, the second reading, the Gospel and the Universal Prayer/Prayer of the Faithful. You will also need to choose readers to proclaim the first and second reading and the Universal Prayer/Prayer of the Faithful during the wedding liturgy. The same person can proclaim all three, or you can have one or two people to proclaim them. The psalm and gospel acclamation are always sung by the cantor and the priest or deacon always proclaim the Gospel.
